2. Configure settings

Draw a solid black rectangle over the same region on every page. Measured from the top-left corner of each page in points (72pt = 1 inch).

72pt = 1 inch ≈ 2.54cm. The same region is redacted on every page of every PDF in the batch.

What this tool does

Papiral draws a solid black rectangle over a fixed region on every page of every PDF in your batch — permanently covering whatever is beneath it. Specify the region's position and size in points (72pt = 1 inch) measured from the top-left corner. Ideal for redacting headers, footers, logos, or any repeated sensitive element.

Problems it solves

  • Blacking out a company name or address that appears in the same spot on every page
  • Removing a header or footer containing sensitive information before sharing
  • Redacting a reference number or identifier from a batch of documents
  • Covering a logo or watermark that appears in a fixed position

Example

Redact a 144×36pt header at the top of every page (72pt from left, 36pt from top)

Frequently asked questions

Is the redaction permanent?

Yes — a solid black rectangle is drawn directly on the page content. Unlike some redaction tools that only hide content visually, Papiral overwrites the region with a filled rectangle.

Can I redact different regions on different pages?

The current version applies the same region to every page. Per-page redaction is planned for a future update.
