What this tool does
Papiral's N-up tool tiles multiple source pages onto single output pages. Choose 2-up (two pages placed side by side) or 4-up (four pages in a 2×2 grid). Pages are placed at their original size — the output page is larger to accommodate them. Useful for creating print-ready booklets, review sheets, or compact document previews.
Problems it solves
- Printing two slides per sheet from a presentation PDF
- Creating a compact review copy of a long document
- Generating a proof layout showing multiple pages at once
- Reducing paper usage by printing multiple small pages per sheet
Example
Combine pages of a 20-page report into 2-up layout for printing
Frequently asked questions
Does 2-up scale the pages down?
No — pages are placed at their original size side by side, so the output page is twice as wide. When printing, scale to fit the paper size in your printer settings.
What happens if the page count is not a multiple of 2 or 4?
The last output sheet will contain only the remaining pages — empty quadrants are left blank.
